VMS -- Botany (f05r) Paris (Trilliaceae)
Folios f05r and f15v are somewhat similar in appearance. Paris
quadrifolia is so named because it displays four main leaves around its
stem, similar to the folio in f15v which is also a quadrifolia; however,
the top portion of f15v looks different from Paris quadrifolia. In
comparison, the top section of the plant in f05r does look like a match
for P. quadrifolia; however, there are more than four leaves around the
stem of this plant. Well, there are Paris plants that have more than
four leaves, so I am still in favor of going with Paris as the genus for
f05r. I do not know why the leaves are drooped and curved down which
does not seem characteristic for Paris plants in their prime, but the
overall structure of the plant seems correct.
