Voynich Manuscript

[Author's Note: I would like to know any thoughts on this, but I'm not on

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen:

Several days ago, I was watching the History Channel; the series I believe
that I was watching is called History's Mysteries. There was an interesting
segment about an encrypted manuscript that has been unable to be deciphered;
undated but perhaps from the Medieval period.

The following evening, again on the History Channel, there was a program on
cryptography. I was intrigued. I decided to do a little research on the
Internet to find out what was known about his mysterious Voynich Manuscript.
There are several things that are known that struck me.

1. The characters are of some unknown language. Some of the characters are
closer together then others, therefore indicating space and positioning was
important.
2. There are virtually no corrections in the text, which indicates that the
manuscript is a copy.
3. This fellow John Bacon, who is supposed by some to have written the
document, was interested in macro and micro; interested in the stars and
astrology as well as Alchemy and particles. Some researchers suppose that
he also created a design for the telescope and the microscope. If this were
so then he would have worked with lenses and mirrors.
4. As I looked at the text for a few moments, having no familiarity of the
language, alphabet or the grammar, the text looked backwards to me.

I believe that the reason no one has deciphered the text is that the
manuscript is a reflection of the original. The manuscript is a copy that
was made of the reflection in a mirror. I also believe that the original
was written from right to left.

What a neat little trick to have the margins line up on the left, and the
end of a sentence capitalized.

I think that the key to deciphering this manuscript is looking at a reverse
image or reversing all of the letters.
