VMS -- Botany (f38r) V-Shaped Palm Leaf
At first glance one might not have thought that there were many palms
with V-Shaped leaves similar to what is seen in f38r, but in fact there
are quite a few. The main problem with the identification of this plant
as a palm may be the flowers. What look something like the shape of
commas in the VMS drawing might be a representation of the plant fruit
(ref. the Palm Fruit example below). If it turns out that this plant is
Pelagodoxa henryana then I would suspect that the identification would
cause quite a stir, since Pelagodoxa is an very rare palm.
