VMS -- Jacobj á Tepence

I went looking for the infamous erased signature of Jacobj á Tepence at
the bottom of page 1 in the VMS (ref. D'Imperio). I believe that I
located it in the copyflo about half an inch below the last line of text
measuring about 3" in length starting at the left border of the text.
Has anyone copied the erased signature so that we can get a better look
at it? Does the signature font match what would be expected during
Rudolph's reign? I am a bit puzzled why it would first have been written
and then later erased.
