Venus' Looking Glass...?

Hi everyone,

A quick thought, 50% botany and 50% astrology.

One component of the AAH is that the letters of the VMS' alphabet were deliberately formed from upside-down astrological symbols - mirror-writing.

Given that the (traditional) sign for Venus symbolically represents a looking glass, it seems almost inconceivable to me that the VMS' author(s) would omit the flower Venus' Looking Glass (Triodanis perfloriata) [named after its shiny leaves] from the botany section. AFAIK, it's found all round the Mediterranean.

Are there other plants of the time that are so explicitly astrologically named that they ought to be there?

Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....
