Re: Dovetail battlements in Rome?
Greetings to all. I'd appreciate if anybody on the list answered the following
question. There are numerous references in the messages of the list members to
Sukhotin's algorithm enabling one to distinguish between vowels and consonants in a text
written in an unknown language. However, I have not seen any explanation what that
algortim entails. Last year Frogguy kindly mailed to me a reprint of an article by
Sukhotin in Russian which, uinfortunately, did not contain any material relating to the
algorithm in question. Can anybody explain how Sukhotin does the job of sorting out
vowels and consonants? Did anybody apply that method to VMS, and if yes, were the
symbols in VMS reliably shown to be either vowels or consonants? Best to all, Mark
