Looking at  http://www.voynich.nu/currier.gif   I'm quite struck by the 
central vertical line of characters whose left entropy is very nearly 
exactly the same as their right entropy.

There's a ~similar~ structure in the latin.gif: but if you look carefully, 
it's actually just to the right of the central line. What interested me was 
how extremely close to the centre the VMS pattern is.

One possible explanation might be that those (central) characters may have 
been inserted into a separate coherent stream - or that a separate stream 
was wrapped around them.

I'd like to take this further: however, I can't quite make out which they 
are from that diagram. :-(

Rene: I can see C, S 3, B and U (and R?), but can you help me with the 
rest? Is the table that generated that diagram online anywhere?
