I am in possession of a Latin grimoire written in Arabic script, and also
from right to left. Upon serious examination you can tell that the writer
was not really fluent in Arabic, the writing just isn't as flowing as one
would expect. He/she also made a lot of mistakes when deciding to
connect letters to the adjoining ones or not. (In Arabic, some letters are 
connected to both sides, some only to the right).

Unfortunately, the book bears little resemblance to the Voynich
manuscript. I am also quite confident that all the symbols looking Arabic
(excluding the "gallows")in the manuscript are also found in Latin shorthand.

For instance:

Voynichese "9" = Arabic "wa" (u/w) = Latin shorthand "con-" / "-us"
