Re: Prediction time...

Hi everyone,

Just to prove that I'm as capable of undermining my own theories as anyone else, I have had no luck in making sense of Tony Clarke's pineapple mayweed (matricaria matricarioides) <--> period pain connection. In fact, everything I've read seems to indicate that this was originally native to North America. Is this correct?

Regardless, here's a women-healers-in-history book-list. As normal, I haven't yet read any of these, so my normal rule of "caveat lector" (or do I mean "hannibal lector"?) applies:-

"Witches, Midwives, and Nurses: A History of Women Healers"
- Barbara Ehrenreich & Deirdre English. Glass Mountain Pamphlets.

"Women Healers: Portraits of Herbalists, Physicians, and Midwives"
- Elisabeth Brooke.

"Medicine Women: A Pictorial History Of Women Healers"
- Elisabeth Brooke.

"Woman as Healer"
- Jeanne Achterberg, Emily Hilburn Sell.

Cheers, ....Nick Pelling.....
