Looking at the Yale Copyflo print, I can see running down
the right side in l.c. Roman letters abcd[e?] starting with the
'a' just under the second line of Voynich text, then starting
just under 7th line of the 3rd paragraph (still vertical on the
right) pq, then some illegible stuff, and possibly a z opposite
the last line of the 4th and last paragraph. To the right of
where the 'y' (or whatever precedes the 'z') would be is a
faint outline of what appears to me to be a Currier J with a
long tail. I can't make out any other Voynich letters opposite
the alphabetical ones.

A couple of decades ago I tried to make prints from my copy
of the British Museum microfilm, and they are less satisfactory
than the Copyflo. I'm sure microfilm-reading technology has
advanced by now, and it's time for me to get access to a film
scanner and try again. The BM microfilm was taken from the
original in the 30's, and comprises the Botanical section (see
Jim Reeds' listing for the specifics). When they sent me the
microfilm copy, the BM did not tell me about any restrictions
on my use of it -- I think it's possible that we can freely
exchange copies of it. It's black-and-white, so it's not
suitable for all analyses.

If anybody has recommendations for a "good-enough" film scanner
or an incredibly reliable scanning service to which you would
trust a possibly irreplaceable microfilm, please speak up.
