I haven't seen the article in question, but I am
99% certain that this would have been C.E. McClung
in 1921.
When Voynich first presented his findings in 1921,
he was accompanied by two other presentations,
one by Newbold and one by McClung who was indeed
an 'eminent physiologist' or something similar.
This was in the 'Transactions of the college of
physicians of Philadelphia', Vol.43, 1921.
Papers were read April 20.
