I think the author's intention was to imply ownership, but
the phrase (in original) may be interpreted both ways.
My translation "curious book" should perhaps be better rendered
"riddle book" as the word in Czech means riddle or secret.

I am not sure but I seem to remember Dee mentions some 
books or manuscripts as belonging to Kelley?
