VMs: Interesting 12-Century Mosaics
I haven't had time to keep up with the postings here, but I ran across some
reproductions in the August 2002 "Bible Review" that might be of
interest. The article "Seven Luminous Days: The Creation Mosaics of
Monreale" (beginning on page 62) includes detailed reproductions of mosaics
found in the 12th-century Cathedral of Santa Maria Nuova in Monreale,
Sicily, with plant-like forms pictured on pages 20 and 23 that are very
reminiscent of Voynich-style flora.
