ps.  one has to remember that before calendar reform, the New Year
started on April 1st, which leads to the anecdotal that after
calendar reform and moving of the New Year to January 1, those who
insisted on celebrating New Year on April 1 were called "April's
Fools", and a trick commonly played on them was the pasting of a
picture of a fish (Pisces) on their backs.  Thus the equation of
Pisces with the New Year (April 1)is firmly established, and we
can be quite certain that the VMS was not written AFTER calendar
reform. :-)
