VMs: Saw a nice book today ...
A scientific translation and commentary on a medieval Women's Health Book.
Normally I wouldn't have noticed it, but the picture on the cover had a
distinctly Voynichese flavor. Forgot to make a note of the source of the
picture however (I was looking for SQL Server books).
I browsed through it and it was a very interesting collection of medieval
medical "tips and tricks". I remember paragraphs about rather gruesome
obstetric (?) problems, like incomplete births etc. but also small ailments
like "swelling of the penis". Not all content was strictly woman-related. It
could be indicative of the content that the VMS-author might have been
hiding from curious eyes:
