Re: VMs: Marci letter - mention of alphabetem

The intercepted letter is also in the Kircher archive at
http://193.206.220.68/kircher/aspimage.asp?ID=7533 and 7534

This part of the archive seems to contain material sent to
Kircher for analysis. Random surfing did not unearth any
Voynich script, but has anybody looked systematically?

The enciphered letter looks interesting in itself and I mean
to have a try, so please no spoilers if any professional
codebreakers are reading this!

That letter refers to a piece of Swedish military
intelligence in the 30-years war, which was
intercepted by the Bohemians. It was in code
and Marci sent it to Kircher for decription, so
that a war could be averted.

Credit to Rene for spotting the importance of the Kircher correspondence. The Baresch letter seems to be the main evidence that the manuscript is not a modern forgery: this was pointed out in the BBC documentary which I enjoyed a lot.
