Hi everyone,

Rene's link to Stanford also led to this very interesting page suggesting 
the co-development of mirrors and painting 1400-1600, mainly as a 
commentary on David Hockney's recent book.

Plenty of content on della Porta, da Vinci and even Gutenberg, Saint Paul 
and Kepler! :-)

I particularly like Gorman's quote taken from Michael Baxandall (1988), 
saying that any painting is "the deposit of a social relationship".
