Re: VMs: Letter Values
No sense to me off the bat, but I think it would be d_d_n_brn ...
Interestingly, in Turkmen "nire" means "where is, what place". I have been guessing so far that voynich "k" is "ir"... that would fit here. Perhaps the "nirn" means "where will be..." In Turkmen the verb form "probably will" tends to end in "n" (yazaryn = probably will write), Unfortunately, I do not have the word for Mars or anything that fits "lahn" in my Turkmen dictionary. Perhaps there is a simlar word in one of the many Turkish dialects today....
If I had to guess the translation for the last word I would guess (my copy is bad) it is deirbcnirbrn, but that is trying to guess from a bad copy...

Larry--
I know your research in this area is still in the
beginning stages, but I thought you might find
this interesting.
I took the letter values that you gave the
other day, and added my 'h' to it, then laid
them out in the revised alphabet I just posted.
I dropped the 'a' from 'al', and 'e' from 'de':
B A X X
H X X X
N L X X
C D X X
R X X X
It could be just coincidence at this point, of course.
Concerning the three words in the Mars figure
of f68r1: using the above values,
the top, three-letter word is "n_n",
the middle, four-letter word is "lahn",
and the bottom word is "d_b_n_bln".
Any of this ring a bell with anybody?
Robert
