Whether you're crazy or not, it does indeed look something like "pinmo"... 
though I think several other readings are possible, and the "it's just 
hair" hypothesis has a lot going for it. :-o

There's also a third type of possibility (towards which I'd tend here), 
wherein some text was [steganographically] hidden within the picture from 
which f33r was copied, but the copyist didn't realise it. This would mean 
that we're looking at a degraded copy of some (originally hidden) text - 
hence only partially readable.

All in all, I'm sure that wasn't very helpful, but there y'go. :-o
