My very strong feeling is that this crown (one of
only three in the entire zodiac as we have it)
is a reference to the star Regulus (little king).
The arch with the star drawn on top of the crown
then refers to the culmination of Regulus (i.e.
when it is due South, at its highest elevation).
Regulus culminates when a particular degree of
that constellation rises (this is what are called
'paranatellonta', a key feature of classical
astronomy). I can't remember off-hand which
constellation is on 72v1, but I know it matches
the culmination of Regulus.

According to my same theory, the other two crowned
nymphs both refer to celestial events of Regulus.
One is in Cancer, the other in Leo. I can't yet
explain which two events, but it has occurred to me
that both crowned nymphs hold 9-pointed stars,
and there are twice as many 9-pointed stars as
there are mangitude-1 stars in the sky (taking into
account that we only have 10 of 12 constellations).
Note that other stars are 8-, 7- or 6- pointed,
which I postulate to refer to decreasing stellar
magnitudes.

This all fits together quite nicely.
Problem: the two labels near the two 9-pointed
crowned stars are not similar and I haven't yet
got a clue what they could mean.

Cheers, Rene
