VMs: A proposed test

In order to resolve the word spacing issue I propose a simple test.

Devise a lookup table that will create a sustitution cipher for the latin
alphabet. Then produce a sample text in english. Ask a person with no
knowledge of the VMS to transcribe this text to a new sheet. If the
transcription then produces the same word spacing, and more importantly, the
same line style of the VMS, then this can reasonably be assumed to be the
method used in the original.
