Last night I ran into a wall that reminded me I sometimes ignore the
obvious.  Head still ringing from the impact, this was on my mind all day,
so I shuffled Quasimoto-like back to my cave, sparked a torch and threw this
together rather quickly this evening.  If you find any transient errors,
please blame it on the bum's rush....

Here you'll find a study of ONLY the ending 89, but in this small study
you'll find a lot of information, including an admittedly non-statistical
clarification and exoneration of Currier's statistical findings.  Pictures
often make a point much quicker than mere words...an axiom that holds true
in this instance.  You might also notice that, according to the list gleaned
from Gabriel's interlinear file mentioned in a previous post, a couple of
pages might be mis-classified, especially f48v.  This whole thing goes
really deep, and is in need of a great deal more attention than we've been
giving it.  For those who sit around and 'speculate' that systems change in
the VMS from time to time, here's absolute proof, on a folio level.  Go
deeper, young man......

It's at first very striking that even some relatively simple words do not
begin to show up until the b2 pages, starting at f26r.  Given the relatively
few number of b2 pages in folios 1r-56v, this list is quite striking indeed.
(Consider when viewing this that there are 87 "a1" folios in this selection,
and only 23 "b2" folios, by Currier's definition.)

All comments are appreciated, and if you wish to query the structures in any
other detail, don't hesitate to ask.

Someone please post a link to Currier's original paper, as I think I and a
few others need to read this document anew.
