I've known people with OCD (see the movie "As Good As
It Gets";
quite accurate!) and I don't think the VMs author(s)
had it. I also wonder
about paranoid schizophrenia; the writing is certainly
impenetrable, but the
pictures are unusual rather than cryptic.

I also agree here; saying that it's "outsider art"
doesn't say a whole
lot.
