Just a thought from my "folio" handling weeks...
I've noticed occasional similarities among the herbals where there seems to be a
pairing of the plants - possibly the same plant in two seasonal variation. (re.
f2v vs f5r, f11r vs f11v, f33v vs f34r, etc.) These are just from a
tertiary glace at the thumbnails. These may be valid or not, but I think
the idea may be worth consideration.
Does this idea help or complicate the foliation
order issue?

others.
As for myself, I'm looking forward to printing out the herbal
and balneological sections onto bifolios, cutting them out like a
facsimile edition, and trying to shuffle them into the correct order like
the jigsaw puzzle that they are. :-)
I'm sure this would make much
more sense than trying to do things one smudge at a time (which is how
I've been tackling it to date). :-o
