Re: VMs: introducing myself and 2 questions :)

I would personally be very interested in the PDF. How big is it? If it is really big how about a program to chop it into chunks so that downloads can be staggered? (For those of us poor wretches without broadband. Wringing our hands and doffing our caps to his lordship) :-)

Nick and All,

I'm a virtual Luddite when it comes to file management and web related issues - I'm a simple dial-up guy.  What I have is this:

- A 240 page PDF of sequenced, labeled, and enhanced images scaled to original size.  There are the 15 or so color images from GC's site with the Yale watermark.

- A PDF of all foldouts (including the 9 rosettas map) registered and divided so they can easily be printed in order (i.e., f67r1,f67r2 - flip your paper then f67r2, f67r1), cut and taped to reproduce the form of the original VMS.

If this is still worth someone dealing with, I am more than willing to send a CD to anyone who can make it available via ftp or however.  I'm sure it can be scrunched in some way to make it more accessible.

For myself, it was quite a revelation to handle the complete work printed as a total work.  Maybe it can do the same for others.

Ken

Hi Ken,

Does anyone have 300MB free on a server we can put this on? :-)

Broadband rocks! :-)
