the Beneventan script will also be with us
forever, I guess, even though chronologically
and stylistically it has nothing to do with the
VMs. Jaques Guy once pointed out (correctly)
that the shape of the VMs character Currier-S
or Eva-ch looks just like the way the T is
written in Beneventan. But that's where the
similarity ends, and we have from a realiable
source (Sergio Toresella) that the VMs has clear
signs of a Humanist hand, which is very different
from, and postdates, the Beneventan script.
Having looked at Beneventan writing, as a
non-expert, I can easily see the glaring
differences.
