Re: VMs: Sideways text? Bleedthrough? Erased image?

I am thinking that the text I see is from an earlier attempt at translation.

I see on f72v1 (October - Libra) Nymphs at 7:00 and 8:00, outer circle:
above 'oteofy' is "atre8uss" and below 'chioepy' is "pafaxus"
Neither word means anything to me though in Latin 'atre" is "dark/gloomy" and 'fax' is "torment"

ps: here are other examples of EVA 'f' and 'p' in non-page-start positions (the page is full of them)

It reminds me more of glyphs formed from joining up constellations in the
sky. :-o

Sorry, Larry, unless you're looking at a quite different scan from me, I
think you're projecting onto random dots here - like Mark Romanek's 1985
film "Static" (with Amanda Plummer). Currently, the only two parts of that
page that I can see as possibly having a small amount of text are (a) the
short vertical line that appears to go over the "augft", and (b) the short
vertical line to the right of the "6 o'clock" nymph on the outer circle.

Even so, both of these are (a) tiny, (b) hard to make out, (c) quite
possibly aligned with creases in the vellum. Sure, there's a kind of
postmodern dialectic to be had between signal and noise - but it's pretty
clear to me that almost all of this is just noise. :-(

Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....
