say, somebody had to live a big part of his life somewhere

So, the Author wondered and learned of local natural medicine (maybe
travelled home together with somebody, who was active in the field)
and they tried to explain, how to picture some plants ...
... we can look at the success ...
from another point of view, we have the varan in Scorpio's place and
the leopard-like lion in seasonal (visually: astrological) section
and this could easily mean, the illustrator comes from a desert, too.
Was the VMS written by western scientist(s) in southeast (place A) about
herbal medecine of (place B) in southeast?
