You are correct.

stars

In my own investigation of 68r3, I considered Triangulum, then rejected
it because the triangle formed is too narrow, and doesn't point at the
Moon. I finally settled on Almach, Mirach, and Rashamatholla.

Other names for Almach : ALMAAK; Almach; Alamak; Almak; Almaach

Other names for Mirach : MIRACH; Merach; Mirac; Mirak; al Mizar

Other names for Rashamatholla : None , could not locate on the star map....sigh...could someone help me?

I'm still support more the Triangulum, due to the fact that if the SW section could result to be Aries than we got two constellations in the drawing.

My suggestions for the two stars in the NE section are Algol and Mirfak.

I also support this due to the fact that is possible to draw a straight line on these two stars and their representation is very similar to the one in the MS as well as their reference with the drawing. The magnitudo of Mirphak is 1,79 and the magnitudo of Algol 2,12. Another option could be that the two stars represents Algol and Gorgonea Tertia with a magnitudo of 3,39.

Other names of Mirfak are : MIRPHAK; Mirfak; Marfak; Algenib; Alhajoth

For Algol we have : ALGOL; Gorgona; Gorgonea Prima; Demon Star; El Ghoul

For the SW section Pi Arietis, Mu Ceti, Menkor, and Xi1 Ceti.

I support more the following stars formation : Hamal (Hemal; Hamul; Ras Hammel; El Nath), Sharatan (Sheratan; Al Sharatain), Nu Aries and Botein. Or, more probabily, instead to have the Nu Aries ( magnitudo 5,43) , Mesarthim (Mesartim; First Star in Aries) having a magnitudo of 4,75. If we consider this as a valid option the result is that the constellation represented by the four star is ARIES. It has to be considered anyway that the Aries constellation is formed by 5 stars instead of 4, but it seams that 4 of them have been nominated by the Arabs.
