Re: VMs: Folio f9r
Dear all,
it is worth mentioning at this point that major
efforts have been spent on plant identifications
in the past, of which the results are not easily
available. Here, 'easily' just means "in electronic
form, on the internet". That is: they are not.
These analyses were performed by at least two
botanists, both from the Catholic University in
Washington, and collected (and possibly extended)
by Mrs. Voynich. They are contained in notebooks
kept in the Beinecke library, with the VMs.
Petersen included lots of these also on his
hand transcription. There is, finally, an
unpublished (I think) manuscript by O'Neill
(one of the two Botanists - famous for his
Sunflower identification), which is also
referred to by Petersen.
The notebooks are freely available for perusal,
but copying the contents is certainly a non-
trivial task.
Cheers, Rene
