The original meaning of "POZOR" in Russian (and in ukrainian)  is "remarkable one", from the verb "POZIRAT' (to observe)

 and the meaning "shame" is a negative meaning of "remarkable one", in the modern Russian it is the main meaning.

In Ukrainian "POZOR" is defined as;
         pozor = disgrace, shame, scandal, indecent
and  pazoor when 'oo' is pronounced as double 'o' in room or root
       pazoor = claw, nail
