VMs: VMS & Italian triplet plots



Taking sets of Italian and Voynich words and listing the successive
triplet ocurrances we get the following.

Note the more definite spiking and flattening of the VMS. Also note
that values crossing VMS word boundaries have as much chance of
having high occurances as within words. This definately rules out a
simple substituion cipher one for one. A pair cipher might work but
I would think it doubtful. The major spiking would not be present.

It could be that either letter clusters stand for words, as in the
triplet idea, or parts of the VMS are in fact abbreviated as Nick
Pelling has suggested. I would need to produce a lot more data before
I could form an opinion.

BTW In the triplet method a high occurance triplet is more likely to
be a vowel although this does not always follow as vowels may be
scattered among triplets with lower values.
