VMs: Kasiski method
>From here http://home.ecn.ab.ca/~jsavard/crypto/pp010303.htm the following
paragraph.
The plain keyword system can be solved by the Kasiski method; look for
repeated sequences of letters in a message, and count the number of letters
between them. From this, it is easy to spot common factors, and determine
the length of the keyword used. This lets one sort the letters into the ones
enciphered with the same alphabet. If normal alphabets are used, looking at
the profile of the frequency count makes solution trivial.
Has the kasiski method been used on the VMS?
