The M means 'yoke of Christ.' Yoke meaning wisdom of Christ. This came from the Cathars. A circle with a dot in it means sun and gold in Egyptian hieroglyphics. In alchemical symbolism gold(sol,sun) are interchangeable, meaning the purification of the soul. It does look sort of like a recipe. Maybe to make gold? Wouldn't that be something?
