Now this is quite interesting! I've always read that
it's quite impossible to write something in an earlier
form of a language, for instance a writer now trying to
forge something in Shakespearean English, that an
expert cannot spot. Have we really considered this?
We've always heard the VMs drawings are idiosyncratic
for medieval and Renaissance periods. Has anyone ever
challenged them as forgeries on this basis?
