Good, Nick!   Are we confusing "technologically" or perhaps culturally
primitive with childish? BTW, I think somewhere in the archive is my
observation that A and B do have differing writing styles in terms of line
slope and pen nib care; that there may have been more than one scribe simply
based on visual analysis of the mechanics of the writing.

FWIW, I think there seem to be three general attitudes to the VMs' creators:
(1) they are stupid but cunning - hoax, nonsense, gibberish
(2) they are too ingenious ever to be understood - artificial language,
unbreakable cipher
(3) they are a worthy opponent, but a product of their time - breakable
cipher system

In terms of Transactional Analysis, these relationship are (respectively)
(1) Parent-Child, (2) Child-Parent, (3) Adult-Adult. Make of that what you
will! :-o
