Barbara Babbles;
It's certaily very similar to the Nastaliq style of Arabic script in which
modern Urdu is written, but like Maurizio I didn't spot any uniquely Urdu
letters (such as the long vowels or the persian consonants).

When was the ms written? Urdu (camp-language: a lingua franca between the
Indians and their Mogul rulers) wasn't a written language until the 16thC,
so if it predates that it couldn't be Urdu, even if it's Indian.
