VMs: Voynich manuscript page on the Wikipedia
Hi there...
I am still alive, but unfortunately I haven't been able to keep up with
the VMS mailing list.
In particular, I missed all the discussion on Wikis etc.; so when I
found the VMS page on the Wikipedia, a few days ago, I went about
editing it. Sigh. Perhaps I should have invested the effort in the VMS
wiki (of which I did not know until now), or elsewhere. Anyway it is
done, so please have a look, and hack at it if you feel like it:

I tried to separate hard facts (History) from dubious ones (Theories
and speculation). I have placed the section on Jacobus's role in the latter,
for the reasons mentioned therein. I hope that those who consider
the evidence strong enough will not be overly annoyed.
As for the theories about the nature of the text, I tried hard to be
impartial, but somehow the "Chinese theory" came out as the only
viable alternative. 8-) Perhaps those of other persuasions will want
to strengthen their entries, or weaken that one.
I have also added an argument against Gordon Rugg's hypothesis. More
on that on the next message.
Apologies for my incurable Latino prolixity.
All the best,
--stolfi
