Apart from Hypergraphia as it relates to the "art," I
believe a while back Seth M. (I think) raised the
possibility of (and I forget the scientific name) of
random writing and schetching out symbols as if they
were text (was it hyperglossia?).  Such writing could
be the product of daydreaming or mental illness as well.

Are there other examples through history and even
modern where a psychological/mental function causes one
to create a work like the VMS.  I do agree that its
organization does not appear to fit the above mold.
