VMs: f58v to f65r transition

Another question from observation...
If you register f58v and f65r one thing becomes obvious.  There is a 
clear difference in the wear and staining between the two pages.  It is 
almost as if f65r was heavily exposed somehow while f58v has been very 
well protected.  In fact, f58r/v is one of the cleanest of any folio.  
How could this happen?  I understand the rebinding argument yet I find 
it odd that two folios so differently worn came together, side by side.
