VMs: WMV's business partner Mr Edgell...?

Hi everyone,

Looking at the 281 <Mr Edgell>s in the 1901 census, the best candidate would seem to be Arthur Edgell: aged 62, born London, Administrative County = Devon, Parish = Upton Pyne, Occupation = "Living On Own Means".

Furthermore, the Wyatt-Edgell family (which lists Cowley Place (in Upton Pyne, near Exeter) amongst its seats and/or estates) has placed various sets of documents held by the Devon Record Office and the Surrey History Centre, all indexed in the UK's National Archives:-

Arthur Wyatt-Edgell was in the line of William the Conqueror (it says here), married Frances Albinia Gresham Leveson-Gower in 1868, and died in 1911: they had three children, Merrick Richard Arthur Wyatt-Edgell b: 1872, Cecil Stafford Charles Wyatt-Edgell b: 1881, and Lucy Priscilla Wyatt-Edgell:-

According to this page, Arthur Wyatt-Edgell was born in 1837, married 30 Jul 1868 in St George's Hanover Square, London, and died on 26 June 1911:-

Could this man be WMV's silent partner? He's not a bad fit... :-)

Cheers, .....Nick Pelling.....
