Re: VMs: Anyone have some Hmong text?

Not what I'm looking for. I want a book-sized piece of Hmong text, with no (or very few) bits of untransliterated foreign text stuck in. I looked in the Gutenberg Project, but it has no Hmong texts.

There is a bunch of info about Hmong at "www.hmongcenter,org".

One thing I discovered there that I didn't realize is that Hmong is apparently a tone language with 7 or 8 tones, and that, unlike Vietnamese, which uses diacritics to indicate the tones, Hmong uses the last letter of the word. So, "pog", "pod", etc. are apparently the same phonemes (i.e. "po") in different tones.

If you didn't know that, it would sure make your letter frequencies look odd!

P.S. It's hard to believe there isn't a Hmong Bible kicking around online somewhere - perhaps some other religious book, such as the Koran or the writings of Mary Baker Eddy might be something to try.
