Is that really how I come across? Then I am part of the problem, but I
think I at least admitted that? As I read the term "dogmatic", the root
"dogma" is defined as
"a point of view or tenet put forth as authoritative without adequate
grounds"
I may be wrong, but in the vast majority of cases concerning script and
other artifacts, I'm willing to argue my point and offer supportive
evidence. When we get down to actual decipherment, I am protective, since
this is the culmination of my efforts and the reward (a pizza) has not yet
been delivered to my door. But I've not been short on the information I've
put out, and when I go back and review it, I'm surprised I felt the need to
say so much on the subject. I must wonder how you feel the "without
adequate grounds" applies, but you must have an idea or you wouldn't say
that I've been "dogmatic", or that you've been taking your cue from me.
You're very much like me in that you've got a thing going on your own, and
you've adopted your own terminology to express these views. What does
'quatrocento' have to do with a 16th century document, I have no idea.
Maybe you're just demonstrating the earliest representations of things
Voynich, but that frames the 'box', not the location within the box. You
say "1450-1500", but D'Imperio's evidence and dating was clearly
"1450-1550". Why did you chop off the last 50 years, and why have you
dismissed English and Cantabridgian evidence in favor of Italian?
You have your reasons, I have mine, but others don't care about why we push
our opininons so strongly. It's better that we don't push them down
people's throats. Nick, it's about other's feelings, not arguing the point.
