Or, less 'dogmatically': totally unconvincing.

Mind you, at the same time one has to be careful
which arguments to use. Saying that 'dl' looks
like a Neal key and means something else, is
equally unproven. While a Neal key may be defined
in a clear way and one can identify them in the
MS, stating what they mean is pure speculation
of course, and cannot be used to disqualify
Feely's solution.

Strong may have been a brilliant scientist, I
have no idea, but I would rather describe his
VMs work as 'ingenious' (in the sense of clever).

Had he been correct, it would have been
brilliant indeed.
