It means that it behaves like Chinese, a restricted
set of initials combining with a set of finals, different.
So I could do the same with Chinese, but it would be
too easy. I'll just use this language, because I
know it reasonably well, it is one of those with
a low entropy, and it does not behave phonologically
like Chinese at all. I have used spaces as morpheme
separators as well as word separators.
ko tare ko rapahago, varua riva riva. ana tu'u mai
a tare ki te hare e tahi, he ragi mai haho: he ko rua?
ko au nei ko tare na te more ga kahi.
he era mai te hoa hare, he haha te rima. he kahi mau.
he tu'u a rapahago ko ia ko tare i te po ki te rona
umu e maoa a, he noho atu i te tapa, he nono'i: mai
ta aku o te ika.
he to'o mai e te tagata hoa hare, he avai. ina eko kai
e rapahago, he ma'u, he oho ki te hare ana i haga,
e haka uru.
he ki atu mai haho o te hare: ai ka to'o, ka kai.
he to'o te tagata hoa hare, he kai, ku agi agi a e tou
tagata era, mai te paki paki haga a rapahago i te kona
kai.
ku, ko, eko, ki, ka, kai, kahi, tahi
mai, mau, ma'u
ika, ina
hare, tare
rona, kona
tu'u, to'o, nono'i, noho, oho
Not the same patterns as Chinese, but patterns
nevertheless. Obvious: with such a restricted
phonemic inventory and such stringent phonotactics,
the language has to have almost any _possible_ words
if it is to have a vocabulary at all.
I could even claim the same for plain English.
Especially spelt phonetically (try it on the
preceding sentencs).
