*sigh* I stopped reading Wired after their godawful 1997 "Long Boom" issue,
when editor Kevin Kelly's desire for techno-spectacle over actual substance
finally became too hard for me to swallow. From the above precis, it would
seem that nothing much has changed since then. :-(
