Re: VMs: Strega, Grigori, four seasons, four stars etc...

Hi, Nick

The strega are not the only ones who thus attribute
the Four Watchers.

In traditional medieval astrology, they are also given
to the angels known as "Watchers" of each of the
compass points:

Michael: Aldebaran--East
Raphael: Regulus--South
Uriel: Antares--West
Gabriel: Formalhaut--North

So these points about the stregha are interesting, but
the lore shares an overlap with traditional Western
astrology. This is not surprising, as these
attributions are very ancient and date back to the
time when Regulus did indeed align with the summer
solistice. Naturally, the positions of these fixed
stars has changed over time due to the wobble in the
earth's axis which causes precession, so they no
longer mark the eqinoxes and solstices. Nor did they
500 years ago.

Warmly,

Pam
