Why would the author - knowing enough about astronomy -
draw the instantaneous position of the planet near the constellation,
knowing it will not be there all the time anyway?
Especially if he was concerned with constellation only?

Actually, you should challenge the theory, but
apparently there is no enough facts to do it. So the next good thing
is to attack the assumptions, but that is done based on some other assumptions,
so in my book it amounts to the same probability.

Now seriously: what is your opinion about those stars in the VM?
I know you want to be cautions - but since you are the most knowledgeable
astronomer in this list, we depend on your opinion.
Wasthere any serious analysis like this done before?
Or was it always rejected out of hand, based on somebody's migraine?

Cheers,
Jan
