You are absolutely right, it certainly can't be that simple. This is, why we
should always keep in touch with both, the original and the real world, when
working with model ... if hungry, the cookbook is not enough, you need some food
and it must be pushed into your stomach ... so, many VMS-glyphs could easily be
just what they look - a XVth century Italian font. But still, many "glyphs" have
kept their secret. I personally think, if the VMS is some "real stuff", then
these signs represent some phonemes not represented very well in this Italian
font. Of course, this could be a wrong way. But it should be checked out.
