VMs: Re: Note on the Gemini Folio

Hello Robert,

Well, there seem to be a number of "anomalies" in f72r2.  The nymph at 4:00 has no visible star nor remnant of a star.  In fact, she has no left hand or arm as well.  May be an oversite or carelessness on the part of the scribe; however, the inner circle nymph at 2:00 is also missing start and arm.  The outer circle nymph at 9:30 has no star.  The genitalia of the outer circle "nymph" at 1:00 is a bit difficult to verify; appears male (possibly 'doctored'); breasts are non-evident; nipples suggest male; rouge evident on face and lips.  All of the 5 nymphs standing at the top (above the outer circle) have stars (1 and 4 have stars seen on Sids); the dark 'blob' next to nymph 4 is at the center of the star. Splotches seen next to nymphs without stars are not confirmed to be associated with stars.

Dana Scott

Subject: VMs: Note on the Gemini Folio

Could someone who has the SIDs please look at the
Gemini folio (f72r2). The point of interest is the nymph
at 4:00 on the outer ring.

Does she have a star? It appears to me she does not,
but I cannot tell for sure.

Thanks!

Robert
